Talking About Regeneration

 

A major conference focussing on property, housing and regeneration will be among the highlights of Downtown Liverpool’s annual Business Week, which takes place 16th-20th July.

The conference, which will take place at the Hilton Hotel on Thursday 19th July, will be opened by Liverpool City Council’s cabinet member for housing, Councillor Ann O’ Byrne, whilst the Chief Executive of Liverpool Vision Max Steinberg will be discussing the city’s latest ten year investment and development plan.

Mayor Joe Anderson will also be contributing to the day, and discussing the implications of the new mayoral zones, the potential of the cruise liner terminal facility and the latest news on the Liverpool Waters project.

Other conference speakers include regeneration expert David Taylor, the former Chief Executive of English Partnerships and most recently involved in the Olympic Games regeneration initiative, Colin Sinclair, the Director of special Projects for Bruntwood, and architect Jonathan Farkingham, Director of Urban Spalsh.   

Liverpool Business Week will also see City Council boss Ged Fitzgerald address business leaders on Monday 16th July, whilst on Friday 20th Liverpool Community College will host a special breakfast event with Wirral West MP Esther McVey.

On Tuesday 17th July, motivational speaker and business mentor Michael Finnegan, who has worked with many leading sporting professionals, including David Moyes, will headline at the event ‘Leaders: Born or Made’? The forum will also include presentations from leading entrepreneurs who have recently visited Silicon Valley. 

Rippleffect Managing Director Ben Hatton and Dave Pichilingi from Sound City will be among the panellists at Wednesday’s   Business Week offering, which will be exploring what ‘the next big thing’ will be as far as the world of communications and media are concerned.
