I was in the hairdressers on Tuesday morning getting my hair done & whilst reading Cosmoplitan magazine I came across a page titled "Cash & Careers Clinic".
Basically its advice about your career, cash flow & being a successful business whether you're a start up or established business.
The top tips are below:
1) No more excuses-got a business or business idea then do it or ditch it!
2) Believe in your business 100%-dedicate time & energy to your business if you feel passionate about it. Belief is what keeps you going when the going gets tough.
3) Do your market research-never make assumptions about your customers, competitors or pricing. A common mistake is to overestimate the number of clients & level of revenue in the first year. A useful strategy is to start small & grow gradually.
4) Find a business mentor-working with a mentor to jump start your skills will put you in a position of strength. If you take good advice in advance, you're less likely to make expensive mistakes.
5) Be prepared to sell, sell, sell-too many businesses spend too much time developing the product or service & not enough time planning how to take it to market & sell it. Until you have customers you don't have a business.
6) Take action or ditch it if you are still making excuses-ask yourself what small first step will take you closer to reaching your goal & do it! Today!
Best wishes for your business and the future
