Business support specialists Blue Orchid have been appointed to identify hundreds of volunteer mentors from all sectors to share their valuable experience and knowledge with those starting or growing their own business.
Successful business owners and professionals with proven track records with SMEs are being urged to put themselves forward for the national ‘Get Mentoring’ project.
Free training will be given and successful attendees will receive a certificate of recognition from the Small Firms Enterprise Development Initiative (SFEDI). Those who attend the training can register for free with the Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs (IOEE) and be listed on www.mentorsme.co.uk, a national website which connects mentors with businesses.
Blue Orchid will be offering a series of mentoring workshops in Liverpool and Manchester, which last for one day and are available until the end of March. For business networks with multiple members, onsite training is also available.
Karen McKean of Blue Orchid said: “Anyone interested should contact us straight away as the training is only available until the end of March.
“We are looking for experienced business owners and professionals from any industry background. The scheme is an opportunity to help support local businesses to grow and develop.
“The benefits are two-way - businesses get valuable support, whilst mentors are able to give something back, enhancing their own skills and professional development.
“Giving just an hour a month can go a long way in unlocking talent and helping a business grow.”
